Meet Our Coaches

Kristofer Kracht

My formal journey with public speaking began when I was in high school and was asked to fill in for a humorous duo at a speech tournament. It was supposed to be for a week, but I was hooked after our success. I became a Humorous Duo State Champion and a team State Champion. The values of hard work, excellence, commitment, accountability, trust, and preparation were instilled in me by my coaches, Sherry and Jim.

After high school, I received a speech scholarship to attend the University of Mary and was introduced to Oratory and the Interstate Oratorical Association National Contest. My professor, Jaime P. Myer, taught me to dream big, to be proud of where I come from, and that winning is born from a set of educational principles. He also encouraged me to pursue a master's degree in communication studies, which I never thought I could earn. I met the legendary South Dakota State University Director of Forensics through Jaime, professor Joel Hefling. He encouraged me to pursue a graduate degree, which ultimately led me to become a professor and DOF.

As a speech coach and professor, I became interested in applied sports psychology and earned a second master’s degree from Adam’s State University. Today, I use my voice to coach the mental side of the game for athletes in various sports, helping them to "weaponize" their brains for success on and off the field. Communication and mental strength go hand in hand.

Cadi Kadlecek

In high school, thanks to my coach Dan Johnson, I joined the speech team and found my passion for speaking. He taught us the importance of having character and the process of winning. At Hastings College, I learned the process of winning, not just winning itself. Near the end of my collegiate career, Mr. Johnson was diagnosed with terminal cancer and suggested I become a teacher and coach, so I did just that. Although he passed away during my studies, his influence on my life has shaped my passion for helping others develop their skills.

Effective communication is the foundation of success, whether it's public speaking, interpersonal conversations, marketing, or any other type of communication. As a communication expert, I'm passionate about all forms of communication. Whether speaking to a large audience, engaging in a one-on-one conversation, or crafting a marketing message, every form of communication is an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others. From my experience as a coach, educator, and now marketer, I know that communication skills can be learned and mastered and are essential for personal and professional growth. I've seen how the ability to speak clearly and confidently can open doors to new opportunities and how good communication can build strong relationships and foster collaboration. I'm passionate about helping individuals and organizations improve their communication skills. I am committed to providing high-quality coaching and training to help people reach their full potential.
